I am working on John Colter of Lewis and Clark, and found where their was a John Coulter served under David Looney’s Company for 28 days and late under Gilbert Christian Company for 32 days, in 1774 at the battle of Point Pleasant October 10th 1774. Do you have any thoughts on this Coulter?

Hi, Jeff, Sue Douglass “sdouglasshg” here
We’re DNA cousins and the connection is in common with other descendants of George Rogers and Francis Hicks. Their son Wallen Rogers is my ancestor. Francis is a daughter of the Combs-Stacy endogamy in S.E. Kentucky, out of Virginia. I have plenty of DNA matches to confirm that lineage.
My issue is that I have zero documentation about George Rogers, other than he was supposedly born in Virginia, he married Francis Hicks in Walnut Hill, Franklin County, Kentucky and they moved to Indiana where Wallen was born, then were early settlers in Pulaski/Wright County, Missouri. I have several DNA matches with people with Dauswell/Doswell Rogers in their tree. The problem is I can’t match George Rogers up with any son of Dauswell/Doswell Rogers. The name Wallen Rogers can’t be a coincidence, with our DNA match. Wallen named his sons Thomas Rogers and Henry Rogers. His daughter was named Mary. Do you have any idea who is our MRCA?
    Regards,
    Sue
