   Researching the Roberts/Blevins/ Wallin connection. I found this article very informing as I was lost in Kentucky and Tennessee. I suspected the connection went further back to Virg.

   If anyone wants a copy of this book let me know. I still don’t quite understand the relationship between John Roberts of Surry County, Tory Colonel James Roberts, William and Cornelius Roberts and Jesse Roberts. Who were the parents of Jesse Roberts? Were William and Cornelius definitely brothers? Who was the father? Were John of Surry County and Tory James Roberts brothers? Everyone is closely related, but how?

   I descend from some of the Longhunters and have some info you might be interested in pertaining to the Roberts clan members of that time period.

     Hi Les,

     I descend from both Robert’s line as my Cornelius line is through his daughter Amelia who married John Frost. My other line in through Shadrach Roberts and Katherine Turner, my 5th G. Great Grandparents on my maternal side,. Both these 2 different Roberts came together and married in the late 1800’s in California.
     This has made for a very difficult search and through Y-DNA testing at FT I know these two lines are not related.
     I have traced back my Shadrach line to the 1650’s to MD and have two brothers from that line that settled in Rowan Co., N.C. One an Edward and another a William 1715/13 from MD. to Rowan. I also have a Boone and Wilcoxen Connection and wonder if these are the two Edward and William that travelled at the same time as the Boones to Dutchman’s Creek where they all were granted land.

     I can always find a William in the Cornelius line but not anything about an Edward along with an William so I am trying to find out if Cornelius and His William also travelled with an Edward and would appreciate any into anyone has.

   I am a descendant of Cornelius and possible a John Tuner Roberts who may be the son of Shadrach Roberts and Katherine Turner. Cornelius line married John T. line in Watsonville CA, in the 1800’s. Cornelius is in the Robert’s FTDNA Project and is matching with the William Robert’s of the Robert’s Cove VA family. I have just gotten a John T.Roberts descendant and a Shadrach Roberts descendant to agree to a DNA test that should be completed in Jan according to FT.
   I would love to have any information you might have regarding these two Roberts.

   I am a direct descendant of Doswell Rogers. I found the deposition that Doswell made in 1812 from Lee Co. VA. Doswell was NOT talking about a 1761 Long Hunters trip as someone has commented. Doswell was testifying that when he was supposed to have been sent to the battle at Point Pleasant in 1774 that instead he was sent with Lt. Daniel Boone under the command of David Looney out to the Clinch River to build forts for the settlers who were fighting with the Indians. After things calmed down Doswell and other Long Hunters moved out to the Clinch River area because they liked the country and the Long Hunters were no longer seeking animal pelts. They were hunting for LAND to settle instead. Comment
